Understanding Cities

arch1002 | CUHK School of Architecture | lecture/seminar course for undergraduate students in Social Science Faculty.

This course will introduce basic ideas about what makes urbanity and how to understand cities, open to students with diverse background but a common interest in cities. Initiated from an architecture-urbanism perspective, it would cover material across disciplinary boundary, in order to investigate the inter-related social, spatial and economic issues. Through key text, media and scenario reading, it aims to equip students with the basic tool and knowledge to participate in public discourse and urban life as an active citizen. <course page link>
